Ringbrothers "Kingpin" 1969 Mustang Mach 1

Every year at the SEMA Show, we make a point of checking out the newest restomod build from Ringbrothers, and even after 20 years, we have yet to be disappointed. These brothers from Wisconsin consistently produce some of the coolest resto-modded classic cars in the industry, and their project for 2025 was no exception. This 1969 Mustang Mach 1, known as Kingpin, features a stretched and widened body, independent suspension, tons of custom one-of-a-kind parts, and an 800hp Coyote V8.

Kingpin: A Sinister 1969 Mach 1

At first glance, Kingpin might look like a lightly modified 1969 Mustang on a nice set of wheels, but there's much more to it than that. The front of the chassis was stretched 1.5 inches longer and widened by 2 inches, while the rear is 3.5 inches wider. This creates a muscular stance and also provides room for wider wheels and tires — specifically 19x10 and 20x13-inch HRE Vintage Series 517 wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

Kingpin rides on a Roadster Shop Fast Track chassis with independent front and rear suspension and Fox RS adjustable coilovers. The six-piston and four-piston Brembo disc brakes are painted in an eye-catching shade of teal, which matches accents on the mirrors, emblems, and interior.

Even the taillights, which match the traditional three-bar look, are custom 3D-printed pieces that serve as a functional pass-through for air drawn in through the vents on the rear quarter panels. The hood, grille surround, front splitter, rear diffuser, and other components were all custom-made from carbon fiber for this project. The body is painted BASF Bootleg Black.

Of course, a build like this wouldn't have an ordinary engine under the hood. It's powered by a Coyote 5.0L V8 built by Wegner Motorsports, topped with a Whipple supercharger that boosts output to 800hp. That power is sent to the rear through a Bowler Carbon Edition 6-speed manual transmission.

The interior features custom black leather upholstery with black and white accent stripes, as well as custom door panels, dash, and center console. The deep-dish D-ring steering wheel has a forged carbon fiber rim with teal accent at 12:00. That color is also carried over to the manual shift knob.

Other more conventional restomod upgrades can be seen in this Mach 1's interior, such as Dakota Digital gauges and Vintage Air A/C.
