The word on the street is that Chevrolet will be unveiling the seventh Generation Camaro the latter part of 2027 as a 2028 Camaro! A prominent GM component supplier has confirmed (or leaked) this information to several automotive media entities via Automotive News. Both the Camaro and a new Buick are slated to be built alongside the next four-door Cadillac at GM’s Lansing, Michigan Grand River assembly plant. The Grand River assembly line is where the outgoing rear-wheel drive Alpha 2 platform Caddy CT4 and current CT5 are manufactured.

The new Buick would be the first North American built four-door sedan since 2020. The North American Buick lineup currently consists of just SUV/crossovers – the Enclave, the Encore GX, the Envision, and the Envista.

GM has begun requesting quotes for components and subassemblies from this major parts supplier, as well as others, for both the Buick sedan, the next-generation Cadillac CT5, and the rumored seventh-generation Camaro. The confidential source shared that production of the CT5 and the Camaro are slated to begin in Lansing in the fall of 2027. GM anticipates producing 60,000 to 70,000 CT5 and Camaro vehicles per annum at the plant, according to the source.
The source doesn’t know or didn’t share when the new Buick sedan is supposed to begin production.
Great News for Camaro Enthusiasts!

This is of course awesome news for the multitude of Classic Industries’ vintage and later generation Camaro owners/customers. Ever since the untimely demise of the sixth-generation Camaro in 2023, there have been rumors that either a four-door ICE Camaro or a four-door EV Camaro will be in the cards for the next iteration of the vaunted pony car. The leaked news here seems to suggest that the next Camaro will indeed be an ICE-powered, rear-wheel drive two-door coupe, but doesn’t rule out a four-door EV powered or four-door ICE powered coupe.

Indeed, several of the Camaro renderings that were found on Motor Trend’s site, depict four-door vehicles that could be powered by fuel (the renderings that show open grills) or electricity.
Classic Industries’ Opinion

Chevrolet/GM could simply follow Ford’s lead and do Ford one better, by coming out with all three, a two-door sports coupe ICE Camaro, a four-door Camaro E28 or ZLE (see what we did there – a la Mustang Mach E?), and a four-door ICE-powered Camaro. Time will tell. You may rest assured that Classic Industries (formerly Classic Camaro) will keep you apprised of what’s coming next. For now, you can rest easy in the fact that Classic Industries is a preeminent source for Chevrolet Camaro parts from 1967 and up! We have the massive inventory of Camaro parts and accessories to prove it!
