Imagine that you're a designer at Chevrolet, and you have the challenge of leading the elite GM design team to create the 2nd Gen Camaro, which will debut in the 1970 model year. What an honor and certainly also a stressful opportunity you'd have in front of you. Reimagining Chevrolet's nearly perfect and much beloved 1st Gen Camaro and taking it up a notch in terms of style, comfort, performance, and increased sales...no pressure there, eh? Join us as we take a look at the styling inspiration for the 1970 2nd Gen Camaro and how the design evolved through the end of its production run in 1981.

Video: Joe Rogan's 1969 Camaro Built by Roadster Shop

The first-gen Camaro is an extremely popular platform for restoration and resto-modding, and it's the vehicle that got us started in the restoration industry back in 1976. With such a multitude of beautiful first-gens at car shows, cruises, and other events, it can seem difficult to build something that's truly one-of-a-kind. However, the crew at Roadster Shop did just that after high-profile client Joe Rogan asked them to build him a unique 1969 Camaro. The resulting vehicle appears subtle at first glance, but exquisitely detailed on closer inspection. Roadster Shop discussed all the details of this build in a recent video on their YouTube channel.

Classic Industries' Supplier OER Wins 2 SEMA 2022 Global Media Awards!

OER, one of Classic Industries’ premier product suppliers, took home two Global Media Awards at the 2022 SEMA Show. OER won the two SEMA Global Media Awards for two separate products, from two different publications, located in two different countries! The SEMA Global Media Awards Program recognizes that automotive restoration, personalization, and customization is taking place, and expanding, on a global level. Classic Industries has been aware of this for quite some time, as we've been supplying American muscle car and truck parts and accessories to distant parts of the globe for many years.

1967 Camaro SS/RS - Reborn From the Flames

A lot can change in a few short years, and this 1967 Camaro convertible is proof of that fact. Back in 2014, we met its owner, Tim Bair, and took some photos of the car. However, the sleek, dark gray pro-tourer seen in these photos bears almost no resemblance to the bright red, chrome-accented car we photographed eight years ago. And the changes are much more than skin-deep — Tim's Camaro is now powered by a 750-horsepower supercharged LS9 engine, with numerous other modifications inside and out. Many of these changes were the result of a fire that occurred in 2019, leaving the car totaled and Tim hospitalized for 10 days.

Returning Your 1978-81 Chevrolet Camaro’s Tail End to Tantalizing Once Again

If you drive your second generation 1978-81 Chevrolet Camaro a fair amount, there’s a great chance that other motorists are going to be staring at your muscle car’s tail end quite a bit. Should your baby be a strong runner, other drivers will have a hard time keeping pace. They’ll be admiring that terrific styling and engineering that went into creating the entire vehicle but especially the tail.

There's no better way to spend a beautiful summer day than cruising over to a local car show. You can see a variety of classic cars, chat with their owners, and even keep an eye out for parts you might need for your own vehicle. However, some shows are truly special and bring out legendary classics that are rarely seen elsewhere. Such was the case for Don Yenko's Muscle Cars at the Museum, an event that took place on Saturday, July 30th, 2022 in Saratoga Springs, New York. Classic Industries attended the show, and our staff walked around to snap photos of some of the most noteworthy Chevrolet vehicles.

Upcoming Event: Don Yenko's Muscle Cars at the Museum

If you love classic cars as much as we do, the name Yenko should certainly ring a bell. Back in 1957, a Chevy dealership in Pennsylvania developed an in-house performance shop with famed racecar driver Don Yenko at the helm. Yenko and his crew went on to build many legendary high-performance vehicles, including the iconic 1969 Yenko/SC Camaro pictured above. To honor and commemorate this legacy, Charity Motor Club has put together a unique event on Saturday, July 30th, 2022 at the Saratoga Auto Museum in Saratoga Springs, New York. Classic Industries is proud to sponsor this upcoming event.

New Product: 1982-1992 Camaro Tail Lamps

Think back to when you were in high school. What was the car you always wanted? For many of us, the answer was simple: a Camaro. If you grew up in the 1980s, the third-generation 1982-1992 Camaro was one of the most iconic vehicles of that era, especially the performance-oriented IROC-Z. Today, third-gen restoration projects have been experiencing a resurgence in popularity, so Classic Industries is working hard to offer more parts for each model year. Our latest new product is a series of OER reproduction tail lamps for the '82-92 Camaro.

We love assisting classic car owners with their restoration projects, whether they're individuals just starting their first projects or well-known shops with experience working on thousands of builds. We have also been fortunate to work with several major automotive magazines over the years. The latest in that category is the 900-horsepower 1969 Camaro restomod seen here. It was built by the team at Super Chevy magazine with parts from Classic Industries, POL, and many other sponsors.

DIY: 1969 Camaro Dakota Digital RTX Gauges & Dash Pad Installation

There's a lot to love about the timeless 1969 Camaro, but we can't deny that some aspects of automotive technology have come a long way since the late '60s. Instrument cluster gauges are a good example, and that's why many classic car owners replace these components with aftermarket parts. Ron Ceridono of All Chevy Performance magazine writes, "Most factory gauges didn’t react very quickly or have meaningful numbers, making them only slightly better than warning lights." So, the ACP team wrote an article showing how to install new Dakota Digital RTX gauges in their 1969 Camaro project car.
