Sometimes, we see classic vehicles restored in one fell swoop—a car rolls into a restoration shop off a flatbed truck or trailer, then roars away under its own power a few months later. However, this night-and-day transformation isn't always possible. In some cases, the vehicle's owner drives it every day, and must gradually work to restore it piece by piece.

Larry Wikert, of Riverside, California, likes to turn heads. So, when it came time to repaint his prized 1957 Bel Air, Larry chose a red, white, and blue color scheme that's certainly eye-catching. When this unique hot-rodded '57 pulled into our Showroom parking lot, we simply had to go outside and learn more about it.

The term resto-mod is a portmanteau or blend of the words "restoration" and "modification". As you might imagine, resto-modded vehicles run the gamut from lightly modified classic cars to vehicles which have had almost every component replaced with modern parts. The beauty of a resto-mod is that you may not know which category the vehicle falls into at first glance—it can still look like a classic, even if it performs like a brand-new car.

We love classic cars, whether they're factory-style restorations, fuel-injected restomod muscle cars, or old-school customs. This gorgeous blue 1967 Impala SS falls into the third category—it's a cool throwback to a different time.

Daniel Brito, of Montebello, California, falls into the second category. His stunning 1956 Bel Air started out as a $500 husk of its former glory, but he restored the car over the last 15 years, leaving it in the beautiful condition seen here.

What's bright green, bulging with muscle, and exudes pure aggression? Comic book and movie fans will probably reply "The Incredible Hulk", and they wouldn't be wrong. However, in this case, there's another answer to this question: Mike Williams' 1973 Camaro Z28. This heavily-customized Chevy looks seriously ticked off and ready to smash the opposition.

Here at Classic Industries, we like to see projects in all stages of completion. Sometimes we'll see customer cars that are still covered in cobwebs after being rescued from a dark garage, and other times we'll come across builds that are completed and polished down to every last detail. It's all part of the classic car restoration process.

For many of us, high school was an exciting time, thanks to the independence of finally being able to drive. There was no more requirement to ride a bike or beg friends and family to drop you off—with your first car, the world was your oyster.
