Since 1958 GM has built a cross-market following from low-down land yachts to quarter mile winning cutters. The Impala has been a part of that diverse culture sailing through America. 1964 we saw the waning of the “Populuxe” era of jet inspired styling move toward luxury cruise ship size elegance. So, how does a restoration and performance parts supplier modernize those features some 43 years later?

I have owned this 1971 'Cuda for nearly ten years now. After previously owning my first 'Cuda years ago, I knew I wanted to fully restore one, and I waited a long time to find this car. I felt very fortunate that I was finally able to buy the sheet metal to make it happen. It actually took over 8 years to accumulate all of the restoration parts I wanted for this project, and just over a year to get it into the shape you see here.

My show and go car is a 1967 Camaro SS. She has a 383 small block Chevy stroker engine with over 600 horsepower. The powertrain includes a 671 Weiand blower with a Turbo 400 trans and a nine-inch Ford differential/rear axle.

Here's a picture of our car, a 1967 Camaro with a LS1, a M22 four-speed manual Muncie transmission, with the power to the road via a 3.73:1 Posi. The car is stock SS except for the engine, which is pumping about 465 HP. The car has a folding rear seat with white interior. It was bought in Canada two years ago after many hours of negotiation.

This car started off as two cars. Cutting one apart with a blow-torch was half the fun. It took six years to rebuild this car with it's original 396 (first year in a production car). It was home built with a sandblasted and painted frame. I've recently added the 20" wheels. Check out my wife's 1957 Pickup with the Louis Vuitton accents.

Alonzo loves his 1970 Chevy truck because of the engine inside; he built it with his late father. Overhaulin' gave it a rebuild, along with the rest of the ride. The hideout for this adventure was Classic Industries. Chris and A.J. brought the truck to Chip and the gang. This happened as Alonzo was returning home from abroad; he's a Marine Sergeant, and if that wasn't special enough, Alonzo's wife, insider Nicole, is ALSO a Marine Sergeant.
