It is a 1971 Camaro RS (option Z22) paint code 62 (burnt orange) and the brown vinyl top (code F) with the custom cloth interior (option Z87) in dark saddle code 792. It was built with the L65 350 cu.in. engine, turbo 350 transmission, A/C, power steering, power brakes. Presently I have a GMPP 4 bolt crate engine with all the fancy accessories including a Vintage Air serpentine belt system. I have a Large BeCool Aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, hedman heders and FlowMaster 40 series mufflers. I have added the rear bumperettes and the bright drip rails which were missing. I installed an aftermarket cruise control, Kenwood AM/FM/.CD sound system with Infinity speakers. For shows I have the original rally wheels with F70-14 narrow white stripe tires and the correct trim rings and hubcaps. For driving I have 17 inch ASA 5 spoke chrome wheels with 235-45 tires. Except for under the hood, the car is correct as delivered. The original owners sons had replaced the factory steering wheel with a Grant unit. I researched eBay for several years and was able to locate the correct RS steering wheel. We paid $1,000 for the car in 1989 and have put another $27,000 in restoration. A good chunk of that at Classic Industries.
Check out my 1958 Impala on another page. Neither car has had a drop of water on it since 1990. I dust them 2 times a week and polish them every 4 months. Needless to say, they are in a garage covered every night. I drive each car approximately 2,000 miles per year.
