Under normal circumstances, if your redeye turns into pinkeye, you should visit a doctor. But when it comes to this 1970 Plymouth Cuda, the combination of a Hellcat Redeye engine swap and custom BASF Pink Eye paint is cause for excitement rather than a course of antibiotics. The Cuda, appropriately nicknamed "Infected," was unveiled at the SEMA Show earlier this month by legendary hot rod builder Ringbrothers. In addition to the 807-horsepower supercharged V8, it features an immense amount of custom work inside and out.

Ringbrothers "Infected" Cuda
Last week, we wrote about another incredible vehicle Ringbrothers unveiled at SEMA, their Buick Grand National known as "INVADR." Much like that build, this Cuda has lots of subtle bodywork and custom fabricated components. Its entire wheelbase was lengthened and the front fenders were shortened, changing the car's proportions in a way that most viewers wouldn't notice at first glance.
The front valance was widened for more airflow, bumpers were tucked and narrowed, and a custom grille surround was machined out of a block of billet aluminum. Its rocker panels were also extended closer to the ground, and a custom floor pan and transmission tunnel were fabricated to accept the new drivetrain.
The car rides on a Roadster Shop Fast Track chassis with Fox RS SV coilovers at all four corners. The three-piece HRE Muscle Series wheels, grippy Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2, and Baer disc brakes provide plenty of traction and stopping power.
The body is painted in a custom BASF color named "Pink Eye," which Ringbrothers says was a homage to the classic Mopar High-Impact colors of the '60s and '70s. It's also a nice tie-in to the V8 under the hood.
This Mopar Hellcrate Redeye engine is the turn-key crate engine variant of the powerplant found in the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. It produces an immense 807hp and 717 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to a Bowler Tremec TR-6060 six-speed manual transmission.
As expected from Ringbrothers, the interior wasn't overlooked either. It features sleek white leather upholstery from Upholstery Unlimited in Iowa, as well as a carbon fiber steering wheel, Dakota Digital gauges, and a Vintage Air A/C system.
The end result is a modernized muscle car that still exudes the flamboyant style of a "Moulin Rouge" FM3 pink 1970 Cuda. And with the coilover suspension, big brakes, and monstrous 800-horsepower Hemi under the hood, we're sure it drives just as good as it looks.
