Whether it's a movie, TV show, or book, every great story has a few twists and turns that make the ending all the more satisfying. The hero narrowly overcomes disaster time and time again, but everything works out at the conclusion. Such is the case with the tale of Mike Arthur's 1967 Mustang. It was purchased in the '60s, stolen and recovered in the '70s, and damaged in a shop fire in the '90s. But thankfully, it survived and was restored it to its original beauty.

Each one of us has a certain classic car that we've always wanted to restore. Maybe you've been fortunate enough to complete a full restoration already, or maybe you're in the initial stages of searching for a clean example. Either way, you've probably spent a lot of time thinking about the project, and looking forward to its completion. John R. Uba of Illinois told us that his dream was to finish restoring his 1967 Chevy Impala, and he was able to do just that. He wrote, "People said dream on. I say dream come true!"

Each week, we write about a customer's classic car restoration project here on our blog. Normally, we speak to the owner, jot down notes, and write about the restoration parts and accessories that we know were used during the build. However, occasionally we meet a customer who does an even better job describing his or her car than we could, so we simply share the story in their own words. The Chevrolet Camaro is unquestionably one of the most iconic American cars of all time, but it shares this high level of prestige with its big brother, the Corvette. These two-door sports cars from General Motors have shared real estate in dealership showrooms for decades, and even though they're not direct competitors, they do share similar characteristics and a similar spirit. So, when Ryan Duncan set out to rebuild his '68 Camaro, he decided to drop in the heart of a Corvette: an LS3 V8 motor. After all, a little sharing among siblings is a good thing.

The Chevrolet Camaro has been an icon of performance and speed for more than five decades. Its blend of a sleek exterior and raucous V8 engine has carried on across generations. Today, some choose to restore these vehicles to factory-fresh original condition, while others have fused elements of early and late Camaro models to create something unique. This second-gen 1972 Camaro SS falls into the latter category, with an LS3 V8 and 6-speed manual transmission transplanted from a fifth-gen model.

As far as we're concerned, every model year of the Camaro is a great one, but certain years are especially beloved by the car enthusiast community for their groundbreaking style and legacy. 1970 was one such year, since it marked the beginning of the second generation of this iconic vehicle. The previous three years had set a high bar for success, but GM still produced a car that lived up to the expectations. Even today, you don't have to be an automotive expert to see this beautifully-restored '70 Z28 and know it's something special.

Classic cars were made to be driven, and the best way to appreciate them is from behind the wheel with an open road ahead. However, there's an inherent element of risk every time a car leaves the garage. Whether it's the result of a distracted driver or an honest mistake, there's always a chance that another motorist might crash into your prized vehicle. That's exactly what happened to this 1972 Road Runner. Fortunately, Thelma Garcia was able to rescue the damaged Plymouth and restore it to its original condition.

In 1965, Ford changed the course of automotive history with the first full model year of Mustang production. Technically, the Mustang was first available in mid-1964 as what enthusiasts call a "1964 1/2", but the success Ford achieved in these early months and years built a foundation for decades of greatness. Darin Smith is a lifelong car guy. He grew up helping out at his father's tire shop, then did a stint as a service writer at a dealership. Eventually, he opened a shop of his own, not far from the Classic Industries Retail Showroom in Huntington Beach, California. Now Darin spends his days restoring classic cars and living his dream. When the need arose for a shop truck for local parts runs, he opted for something more distinctive than a brand-new pickup, and bought this 1971 Chevy C10.

We've spoken to many classic car owners over the years who drive their restored vehicles frequently, rain or shine. But it takes a special kind of owner to hop behind the wheel of a 50-year-old muscle car with a 500ci V8 and manual transmission and embark on a 2,600-mile road trip just for fun. It also takes a special vehicle to remain reliable and comfortable on such a journey. Jasper Thomas, of Pitt Meadows, BC, Canada is that kind of owner. His 1968 Dodge Charger is that kind of car.
