SVE's 1,564 HP Twin-Turbo Yenko C8 E-Ray: The Ultimate Hybrid Corvette

Written by D. Brian Smith | Feb 23, 2026 9:20:45 PM

There are “tuned Corvettes,” and then there are statement pieces - the kind of builds that make even seasoned track-day rats do the slow head turn like they just heard a big-cam idle in a quiet parking garage. Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) just dropped the latter: a Stage III Yenko/SC twin-turbo Corvette E-Ray that’s reportedly good for up to 1,564 horsepower on E85. Yeah… that number.

The premise is deliciously unhinged: take Chevy’s already spicy AWD hybrid C8 - the one that blends a mid-engine V8 with a front electric motor for instant punch and all-weather traction - and then bolt a full “hold my energy drink” turbo program on top. The result is a Corvette that’s not trying to “keep up” with exotics. It’s seeking to embarrass them.

The Big Headline: 1,564 HP, AWD, and Hybrid Punch

SVE’s claim is straightforward: 1,564 hp with the Stage III package when running E85.
That matters, because E-Ray is already a traction monster from the factory - an electrified front axle means torque fills instantly while the rear powertrain comes alive, and AWD gives you more usable throttle earlier in the corner exit. SVE basically looked at that and said: “Cool… now let’s add four-digit boost problems.”

If you’re thinking “but can it hook?”—SVE leans on boost-by-gear strategy to keep the thing from instantly turning its rear tires into artisanal smoke.

The E-Ray’s V8 foundation is the LT2-based 6.2L - and SVE doesn’t treat it like a “tune and send it” situation. This is a full internal makeover meant to survive real cylinder pressure, not just dyno glory.

Key hard-parts and durability upgrades reported include:

    • Forged steel crank
    • Forged H-beam rods
    • Forged 2618 pistons
    • ARP head/main studs

Then they open up the lungs and strengthen the valvetrain side of the equation with:

    • CNC-ported high-flow heads
    • Upgraded valvetrain
    • Proprietary camshaft grind
    • Custom intercooled intake manifold

This is the kind of parts list you expect when the goal isn’t “fast for Instagram,” but “fast every time you roll into it.”

The Snails: Twin 58mm Garretts, Water-Cooled Everything

SVE goes with twin Garrett 58mm ceramic ball-bearing, water-cooled turbochargers, backed by water-cooled wastegates.

That combo screams: quick response, high flow, and thermal control that’s actually thought through. On a mid-engine platform where heat management is always a boss fight, water-cooled turbo hardware is the difference between “repeatable” and “one heroic pull.”

Fueling: Flex-Fuel Capability and E85 for Max Sauce

To get to the full 1,564-hp claim, SVE says the car wants E85, and the system is set up with:

    • upgraded high- and low-pressure fuel systems
    • auxiliary port injection
    • flex-fuel capability

They also note a minimum fuel requirement of 91-octane, while max performance is on E85.

Translation in enthusiast speak: it’ll run on pump, but if you want to summon the full demon, you feed it corn.

Keeping the DCT Alive: Transmission Upgrades So It Doesn’t Rage-Quit

Making power is easy. Keeping the gearbox from turning into expensive glitter is the real game at this level.

SVE addresses that with an upgraded Stage III 8/9 dual-clutch unit featuring billet baskets and enhanced pressure controls.

That’s critical because the C8’s DCT is fantastic - right up until you ask it to casually deal with torque numbers that belong in a different tax bracket.

Stance and Shoes: Wide Forged Rollers and Yenko Details

SVE isn’t leaving it looking like a sleeper E-Ray on rental-spec tires. The package calls out forged, CNC-machined lightweight wheels in an aggressive factory-plus fitment:

    • 20×10 front
    • 21×13 rear

Add Yenko-branded brake calipers, Yenko/SC-specific exterior graphics, and the signature “I didn’t buy this to be subtle” vibe.

Exhaust and Aero: Let It Breathe, Let It Announce Itself

The setup includes Yenko/SC dual-dual exhaust tips, and SVE pushes an optional high-flow exhaust as “highly recommended” in coverage.

There are also options floating around in reporting like a Z06-style rear wing (chassis-mounted).

Limited Run, Real Warranty: Not Just a “Good Luck” Build

Here’s a wild part: SVE backs it with a 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty on the engine and turbo assembly, plus a similar term on certain non-powertrain components.

Production is capped at 50 units, which tracks with the modern Yenko/SC playbook: low volume, high drama, instant collectible energy.

Pricing hasn’t been publicly posted—buyers are being told to contact SVE directly.
