Allan Yoshida's Stunning 1971 Camaro: A Muscle Car Enthusiast's Dream

Exira, Iowa resident Allan Yoshida is a man of few words, we suspect. He kindly emailed Classic Industries three photos of his black over blue 1971 Camaro. Mr. Yoshida went on to explain that the Camaro has a 350-cubic inch V8 engine and is backed by a four-speed manual transmission.

Above: Someone is working on the passenger door of Mr. Yoshida's 1971 Camaro Z28. Notice how spacious and well-equipped the garage or home shop is?

Shop of Dreams with Man Cave Potential

Not to be putting any ideas into Mr. Yoshida's head, if this was my garage, you better believe there'd be a ton of automobilia hung on the walls:

  • Some American muscle car prints in nice frames
  • Photos of the Auto Union 1938 Wanderer W25K roadster proudly wearing her new Merlot paintwork
  • Some vintage sports cars taking up wall space - a nice Shelby Cobra 427SC (read FFR Mk4 Cobra roadster replica), a jet-black 1936 Auburn Boattail Speedster (in honor of my Uncle Phil), a cream white 1959 MGA (in honor of my dad - the sports car that he chauffeured my mom around in when they were young)
  • Some old automotive signs and road signs hung appropriately
  • Maybe an old neon auto sign or two
  • Some vintage filling station fuel pumps tucked away in a couple corners, one a 1930's era gravity fed and one from the 1960's that's renewed to the nines that houses some bookshelves inside containing car books

There'd be plenty of light and a couple of lounge chairs in there for doing some quality reading of automotive literature, shop manuals, as well as some great fiction like Jack London, Michael Connelly, David Baldacci, T. Jefferson Parker, John D. MacDonald, Lee Childs, Mark Twain, etc.

The garage would be festooned with all the requisite tools for spending some quality time in the shop turning wrenches, telling jokes, and spending some quality time with family and friends who are almost as enamored of the old car hobby as yours truly has been since Dad and Mom bought me my first toy car when I was a little tyke. In fact, there's a Chevy van in the background of one of these photos. Who needs a house? Just sleep in the van. Go to the gym to workout, shower, and shave. Go back to the Man Cave to work on old cars, take photos of old cars, write articles about old cars, and write books about old cars, and have old cars be the hero cars in the fiction books that I write. But I digress.

Mr. Allan Yoshida, thank you so much for your American muscle car submission of photos and for providing the Camaro's details. We thank you for being a great customer at Classic Industries!
